Hi all-
Greetings from GetTheSkinny.
In your opinion, what is the "best" way to lose weight?

Diet and exercise?

Probably the best. Watch what you eat and how much you eat. Simply reducing calories and exercising more takes off pounds naturally!

I've noticed exercising as often as you can is the best. Not even for long. I'm usually at 6 times a week just for 15-20 minutes of intense workout a day. if you let yourself go for too long, it takes that much more diet and exercise to get yourself back into shape. its better to watch what you eat and exercise now so you don't suffer the consequences later.

I have found that a reasonable daily reduction in calories and a reasonable increase in exercise is the most effective way for me to lose weight. Just one or the other doesn't work well. A little of both doesn't make me feel deprived or over-worked! For example: 300 less calories per day plus 200-300 calories worth of exercise = a pound a week!

Weight loss has been successful by increasing protein and decreasing carbohydrates. When you eat high protein, your body burns the the stored fat for energy and not your muscle. Eating green vegetables, grapefruit juice and salad along with protein from meat and eggs is the only way I have ever lost weight. Eating 3 meals a day and not letting yourself get hungry which makes consistent meal time important.
I have had 2 eggs and 2 slices of bacon with grapefruit juice for breakfast; 6 oz of lean meat and salad for lunch ; 8 oz of lean meat, salad and green vegetable (broccoli , green beans , asparagus) for dinner and skim milk at bedtime ( with possibly some sweet and low and vanilla frozen into a ice milk snack) I lost 5 lbs a week....D'Anne Beall
